Tesseract 3 Upgrade Complete, including the new Page Builder!
I performed the Tesseract 3 Upgrade today, after putting it off for as long as possible. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to migrate from one set of tools to the recommended set, I just knew it was going to take a lot more work than the video would leave you to believe…
While not a complete tear-down, converting from Site Origin’s Page Builder module to the latest Beaver Builder site building module is still quite a challenge. Depending upon the configuration of your pages, there could be minor tweeks per page, to full deletion of content and re-insertion of the same. I highly recommend that you back up your content, including any special HTML code or CSS that you’ve written, prior to deactivating and removing the Site Origin plugins and turning on Beaver Builder. I’d also recommend getting some screen snapshots, to compare the previous layout to the new one. Of course, you could look at this as an opportunity to do something completely fresh! And without backups, that’s probably what you’re going to get…
Even so, moving forward developing pages using Beaver Builder should streamline the process. I highly recommend using the plugin. Once you’ve established a flow, re-inserting content is faster than using the old tools, and the WYSIWYG interface shows you your progress right as you go.
Please take a look at my site and let me know if you see anything out of whack. Thanks for stopping by!
